December 2022 Project Update: The Foundation Stone is Laid

The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of this esteemed project was held on Saturday, 17th December 2022 at the project site in Gulistan-e-Johar Karachi and was attended by numerous supporters and honored dignitaries.

Representing the Board of Investment, Prime Ministers secretariat, Honorary Ambassador-at-Large on Investment, Mr Zeeshaan Shah said, “I am honoured to be here today for the ground breaking of this monumental project. University Medical Centre will provide state-of-the-art healthcare to citizens of Pakistan and especially underprivileged sections of society. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the US diaspora and all stakeholders for collating their investment in this project that I’m sure will be a hallmark for modern healthcare and education in Pakistan in the years to come”.

Dr Dilbar Saeed, representing Medics International, shared that the site of Gulistan-e-Jauhar had been selected for the UMC as this neighborhood was going to become the center of the city keeping in view the rapid expansion of Karachi as a modern healthcare facility built in this area would be easily accessible by a large number of patients. He said the UMC would operate round-the-clock with emergency treatment facilities for both adult and child patients whereas the upcoming healthcare facility would also give specialized care to cancer patients.

Dr Hussain, representing Baqar Health, told the audience that the UMC would be the embodiment of the cherished dream of like-minded senior healthcare professionals in Pakistan and abroad who wanted to serve a large number of patients in their native land who couldn’t afford the best treatment services as they belonged to the deprived communities.
