A landlocked country in West Africa, Burkina Faso is almost 62% Muslim. Food and water insecurity, inadequate rain, poverty and unemployment leave communities in dire need of our help and support. In light of COVID-19, Medics International organized food rations and uniform delivery for the students and their families. Medics International dug three wells in the area, two for general use and one much needed for the students during the hot, dry season.
Medics International hopes to sponsor additional wells in the area, priced at $1500 USD each. Medics International also hopes to establish much-needed medical infrastructure, including medical clinics and facilities for the growing community.
We are working with our partners in Burkina Faso who are providing food to vulnerable families widows, orphans, the elderly, day wagers, street vendors, and abandoned mothers during COVID-19.
Amongst our other projects in the region, Medics International is working to build a school in Burkina Faso.
The school is set to finish construction within this year, providing new, clean and accessible learning spaces for hundreds of students.
